I am a painter who makes pots, and some days I’m a potter who paints. Lucky to have the wherewithal to do both. Currently, serving a third year as President of Cascade Clay Artists, and will be teaching Community Education Winter 2015: Clay Workshop, and Growing Bolder: The Selfie in Oils. I studied at the San Francisco Art Institute (BFA) with several modern masters: Richard Diebenkorn, Elmer Bischoff, Frank Lobdell, Manuel Neri. Mills College (MFA) with Tony Prieto and Ralph DuCasse. I earned my MA (Art Education) in the United Kingdom and lived, taught, and ran a ceramics business — Dianthus Ceramics — in Stratford-upon-Avon for over 25 years. Most recently, at Gage Art Institute in Seattle, had the very good fortune to study with another modern master, Michael Lane. Skagit County has been my home for ten years. It’s rather grand here, isn’t it?
