Gloria Shelton

I describe myself as a “Jill of all trades” when it comes to fibers and textiles.
I learned to sew in the 8th grade and have never stopped. Like every young
woman in her 30’s during the 1970’s, I wanted a crocheted “Granny
Square” vest or poncho, so I learned to crochet. Now I invent my own
patterns as I go along. Knitting came much later. Wet felting, with and
without the addition of silks, is my most recently acquired skill. All these
techniques let me express my creativity and celebrate a love of color and
texture. I make things that people can wear and use. The yarns and silks I
use are “up-cycled” and any waste is recycled.
